I like to keep tabs on Paul and noticed an article in Rolling Stone. While ago I found a piece that told of an album he and his wife were working on together, a collection of children’s songs. And now today I notice that there is going to be a new song by Paul and Edie on a Starbucks CD for Mother’s Day. Paul is releasing his newest CD through Concord Music Group that is in collaboration with Starbucks. I wish this piece was about the Graceland Reunion Tour that he threatened for this year, but any news is good news. Then with random searching I found that Garfunkel is slated to do a concert at Carnage Hall on March 13th. Could it be that his voice is back with full force? For those who don’t know he has been suffering from paralysis of the vocal chords, which means he can’t sing. He can talk, but it is strained, as evidence on the BOTW extended 40th Anniversary doc about the album during his interview segments. Next year they will have been friends for 60 years, the Diamond anniversary. So maybe they will do a final final tour, cross your fingers!
Old Friends, The Diamond Tour! Maybe Neil Diamond could open for them.
On a lighter note, I was at the Jazz Fest concert in 2010 where Garfunkel couldn’t sing, it was still a good show because Simon was being rather compassionate to his old friend, but still Art must have felt bad that he couldn’t sing.
